Great News: Lamar Jackson has agree to a deal worth $260 million…..

NFL Rumors: Lamar Jackson Misses Out on $750K Contract Bonus Following Absence from Ravens OTAs Lamar Jackson, the quarterback for the Baltimore Ravens, has been excluded from receiving a $750,000 contract bonus because he did not participate in offseason workouts.

The news was broken by Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio.

Upon closer inspection of his 2023 contract, Jackson receives $750,000 in annual workout bonuses during the off-season. He needs to take part in 80% of the offseason exercises in order to qualify, with the exception of the required minicamp. We’re informed that he has already missed too many workouts to be eligible for the $750,000 this year. There will be the same payment available in 2025, 2026, and 2027 with the same terms.”

Jackson has missed the first four of the Ravens’ five OTA sessions, according to Shanna McCarriston of CBS Sports.

The two-time NFL MVP Jackson agreed to a $260 million, five-year contract with a $185 million guarantee last year.

Therefore, even though $750,000 is a significant sum of money, it might not be as big of a blow for the league’s MVP, who just helped the Ravens advance to the AFC Championship Game.

Jackson’s absence doesn’t mean a lot. Who are the Ravens fans to worry about if he’s okay with missing out on three-quarters of a million dollars and voluntary workouts?

Since assuming leadership as QB1 in 2018, he has performed admirably. Despite not having made it to the Super Bowl yet, Jackson has contributed by leading an offense that is largely effective and prolific.

Furthermore, these exercises are ultimately optional, with a focus on the word optional.

Greater challenges await the Ravens, chief among them defeating the Patrick Mahomes dynasty and the Kansas City Chiefs. In May and June, OTAs won’t figure out how to accomplish that. However, the Ravens have their league opener against the reigning Super Bowl champions on September 5 marked on their calendar.
