Sad Departure: 2 key players depart Philadelphia Eagles just now…….

Giants React to Saquon Barkley’s Decision to Join the Eagles
Hard Knocks: Offseason Edition’s premiere episode delves deeply into Saquon Barkley’s journey to the Eagles.
It seems that the New York Giants are still a little shocked by Saquon Barkley’s free-agent exit.

Naturally, that’s what occurs when you refuse to give an All-Pro player what he wants in a contract, and he chooses to sign with the Philadelphia Eagles instead.
Despite Barkley being the team’s former second overall pick in 2018, the Giants and general manager Joe Schoen explained their decision to keep him off the roster in the inaugural Hard Knocks: Offseason Edition episode.

“You’re paying [Daniel Jones] $40 million, and we have to upgrade the offensive line. It’s not to hand the ball off to a $12 million back,” Schoen clarified. “I intend to use this free agency to address the offensive line at some point. There’s a chance that the offensive weapon we’re sitting with at six is there. For Daniel, this year is his.”

Speaking about the matter, Giants co-owner John Mara stated, “In a perfect world, I’d still like to have him back.”
Barkley played in multiple Pro Bowls during his six seasons with the G-Men. He also gained over 5,000 yards rushing. He joins an Eagles team that is among the best in the league in terms of skill position groups and offensive lines.

The first Hard Knocks episode explains the Giants’ rationale for allowing Barkley to walk to their bitterest rival, even though Mara and the team may not be pleased.
