Eric Clapton just announced his divorce……..

From Eric Clapton to a “wrong” first marriage and a “traumatic” divorce, Davina McCall had a turbulent romantic history.

In honor of her extraordinary career, TV icon Davina McCall will receive her MBE award at Buckingham Palace today. This is where The Mirror looks into her life away from the screen.
Although millions of people love Davina McCall, the television icon, she has had many ups and downs in her love life.

The 56-year-old national treasure will be honored at an investiture ceremony at Buckingham Palace today with her MBE award from the King’s Birthday Honours 2023. Roksanda Ilinci, a fashion designer, and photographer Nick Knight will accompany the TV legend.

Ever since she shot to fame with MTV Europe and later became the face of Channel 4’s Big Brother, she has had an incredible career. These days, Davina is a frequent guest on Comic Relief where she hosts shows like Long Lost Family and several documentaries on important subjects like menopause.

Outside of the spotlight, though, the mother of three has survived incredibly trying times in her own life, such as her “traumatic” divorce from her ex-husband Matthew Robertson. The married couple, who got married in 2000, broke news of their separation in 2017, not long after Davina turned 50.

Following conflicting rumors, Gemma Atkinson says she would rather spend time apart from her fiancé Gorka Marquez.

However, the presenter has overcome her past and has spent the last few years in a loving relationship with her celebrity hairdresser. When Davina first started dating a well-known rock star in her early 20s, her stormy romantic history started.

Then, at the young age of 25, Davina developed a close relationship with 23-year-old rock and blues icon Eric Clapton. She experimented with cocaine and heroin before deciding to face her demons and get support from the Wonderful Tonight hitmaker while she attended Narcotics Anonymous meetings.

“I was a mess. You name it, I took it. Cocaine, ecstasy and heroin,” she told The Mirror. Her time spent with the rock icon helped her to land a life-changing role at MTV in 1992, but the couple soon parted ways.

Davina moved on quickly, and began dating shop owner Andrew Leggett, and after a whirlwind six-month romance, they got married in 1997. However, her rarely spoken about first marriage was not a happy union, and they divorced after just two years. At the time, Davina and Andrew were pictured arguing outside her old flat in West London, and she briefly touched upon their union in an interview in 2006. “I fell madly in love, but it was wrong, so I got out quick,” she told The Mirror. “I won’t talk about it because he’s not a celebrity and it’s not fair on him.”
