When Paige Bueckers and Nika Muhl were both attending UConn, they were very close friends.
Indeed, Bueckers announced last week that she will be paying Muhl a visit in Seattle at some point in the upcoming month.
Muhl nevertheless went ahead and gave Bueckers a funny moniker despite this.
On Wednesday, Bueckers shared a number of pictures of herself playing basketball on Instagram, writing the caption, “World tour work🫡.”
Muhl also wrote, “pÌ•aÌ•sÌ…sÌ…iÌ•vÌ©eÌ• Paige,” in a comment.
This is a hilarious allusion to an interview Bueckers conducted back in June with The Athletic.
Bueckers responded, “There’s a much larger sense of urgency,” when asked what she expected from her final season at UConn.
Bueckers continued, “This is my last year to win the national championship, which is why I came here.” “‘Passive Paige,’ please.”
After the “Passive Paige” line went viral, UConn’s NIL store attempted to make shirts with the phrase “No More Passive Paige” for a short while before the items vanished from the website for no apparent reason.
Muhl’s new moniker for the Bueckers is made even funnier with this background information.
