Over the weekend, the Auburn football program added the 16th prospect to their recruiting class of 2025 with the commitment of 3-star offensive lineman Jacobe Ward. From Savannah, Georgia, Ward plays at Benedictine Military School, the alma mater of current Auburn QB Holden Geriner.
Ward first visited the Plains in March, and the Tigers remained the leader in the OL’s recruitment even through visits to South Carolina, LSU, and Tennessee. After his official visit in June, Ward was ready to commit to the Tigers. He told Auburn Live that his relationships with the Auburn football coaching staff were a major factor in his decision.
“Still standing (at No. 1),” he said. “Really my relationships with Coach Thornton, Coach Freeze, and Coach Payton (Cox). They check up on me every single day to make sure I’m good. To come in here and see how willing they are to take me in really surprised me.”
Auburn Athletics Director John Cohen and the Board of Trustees have approved a new video board for the north end zone of Jordan-Hare Stadium to be completed in time for the beginning of the 2025 season. The video board is only the start, though, as Cohen has plans to add more premium opportunities to the gameday experience.
“I also think we have a need for increased premium opportunities in Jordan-Hare because we have waiting lists for all of our premium opportunities,” said Cohen, per Auburn Rivals. “We just opened up a premium opportunity, the Locker Room Club, and we sold out of it in less than two weeks, which really speaks to the passion of our fanbase and what is happening in our football program right now.”
