Inside Alison Krauss And Robert Plant’s Relationship And What Really Happened To Her Husband

When the iconic bluegrass singer Alison Krauss and the heavy metal rock star Robert Plant collaborated on their groundbreaking album Raising Sand, it birthed one of the most successful eras of their careers. However, as much as they made headlines for their joint success, fans always wondered if their musical chemistry extended to a romantic one.

As individual music stars, Krauss and Plant were fans of each other’s works way before their first joint album was released. The country star made a name for herself as one of the most awarded Grammy Winners alongside stars like Beyoncé, Quincy Jones, and Sir Georg Soti. Robert Plant was also a force to reckon with, as the front-man of the hit-making rock band Led Zeppelin and as a soloist after the group became defunct. When he and Krauss joined forces in the 2000s, their excellence became even more imminent. However, did they ever take it to a romantic level?

Was Alison Krauss Ever In A Relationship With Robert Plant?

Fourteen years after dropping their iconic 2007 album, Robert Plant and Alison Krauss released a second album, Raise The Roof, which replicated the style of their first joint body of work. Over the years, music stars have been aware of the speculations concerning their romantic lives. Many wondered if Plant and Krauss dated or were in a relationship.

While promoting their second album, the singers clarified the decades-long speculations in an interview with People. When asked if they knew of the romance rumors about them, Robert Plant noted that they knew. He clarified by stating the kind of chemistry and relationship between him and Alison Krauss:

“But not that one. We have a musical one. Because if we had that one, we’d be in trouble now. Trouble, party of one.”

Speaking to The Los Angeles Times in 2022, the stars were asked to describe their relationship. Alison Krauss explained, ‘We are happily incompatible.” Plant, who once struggled with his health, then attested to it by stating, “That’s probably right. I do still like you, though.” Referencing other male-female musical duos, Plant continued:

“We’re not Dale & Grace or Sonny & Cher, but we’ve definitely got something in on. We’ve got two different lives running. Alison’s a lot more private than I am. I’m out in the floods. I’ve lived where I’ve always lived.”
