FEED A WOLVES Wolves are preparing a £20 million transfer raid to acquire Anel Ahmedhodzic, a Sheffield United player valued at £20 million, in an attempt to replace Max Kilman. Wolves could still make a move for another Sheffield United player.
Kilman, the defender, joined West Ham. As a result, manager Gary O’Neil is looking for a center-half who can play at the back, and the Sheffield United player is a good fit.
Ahmedhodzic, 25, wants to return to the Premier League after being demoted the previous season, so the transfer would benefit him and provide United with funds for new players.
Though the Blades are in takeover talks, a sale would free up general manager Chris Wilder to focus on preparing for the Championship season in 2019.
Sheffield United may have to accept less money than their desired £20 million.
The Bosnian international, who was born in Sweden, made a £5 million move from Malmo to Bramall Lane in the summer of 2022.
When Ahmedhodzic, 25, piqued the interest of Napoli and Atalanta in January, the Blades set his price at £20 million.
At a commanding 6 feet 4 inches, he is the same height as Kilman, the former Wolves captain.
Kilman, 27, completed a £40 million move last week and signed a seven-year contract to join former manager Julen Lopetegui at West Ham.
Due to a 10% sell-on clause, Molineux executives will pay Maidenhead United, a National League team, approximately £4 million. Kilman was signed by Maidenhead United for £40,000 in 2018.
In the event that Blades playmaker Gustavo Hamer departs, Wolves may pursue his former Coventry teammate and free agent Callum O’Hare. Wolves are also interested in Blades playmaker Gustavo Hamer.
Leeds, meanwhile, is interested in Jayden Bogle of Sheffield United but disagrees with the £7 million asking price.
After letting Connor Roberts return to Burnley on loan, the Whites need to fill the right-back position, and they haven’t talked to Clarets about making a bid yet.
Italian scouts are also considering a move for Blades midfielder Vini Souza; AC Milan is one of the teams involved.
A bid of £15 million made by Fulham for the 25-year-old Brazilian was previously rejected.
