Shericka Jackson just announce she’s leaving Track and Field…….

At the Gyulai International Television Memorial in Hungary, André de Grasse and Julien Alfred won 200 meters while Shericka Jackson was injured.

In the men’s 200-meter race on Tuesday, July 9, at the Gyulai István Memorial in Székesfehérvár, Hungary, reigning Olympic champion Andre De Grasse ran a season-best 19.98, but the defending world champion in the women’s 200-meter race wasn’t as fortunate.

Shericka Jackson of Jamaica was leading down the homestretch when she arrived, scowling. She came to a stop, crossed the finish line, and left the track, moving freely.

Instead, Julien Alfred of St. Lucia (shown above) won, matching a season-best 22.16.

Following Elaine Thompson-Herah’swithdrawalfrom the Games due to injury, the reigning and two-time Olympic champion in the women’s 100 and 200 meters, there are increasing concerns about injuries for team Jamaica ahead of Paris 2024 later this month.

Kishane Thompson of Jamaica, who had a strong showing at the Jamaican nationals, had better luck as he won the 100m in his first international competition of the season. With a score of 9.91, he emerged victorious in Székesfehérvár.

That was less than Thompson’s world record of 9.77, which he achieved while winning the Jamaican championship.

In just 11 seconds, American Tamari Davis won the women’s 100-meter race.

Just two days after placing second in the Diamond League meet in Paris, American Trey Cunningham won the men’s 110-meter hurdles in 13.27. During the weekend, Cunningham disclosed his sexual orientation in an interview with The New York Times.

Jasmine Camacho-Quinn, the reigning Olympic champion from Puerto Rico, won the women’s 100-meter hurdles in 12.47 seconds after winning the FBK Games on Sunday, July 7, in the Netherlands.

The current Olympic champion, Steven Gardiner, won the men’s 400m. With a 44.50, the Bahamian won easily.

In the throws, world record holder Mykolas Alekna of Lithuania won the men’s discus throw with a throw of 70.20 meters (230 feet, 3 inches), and world champion Ethan Katzberg of Canada won the men’s hammer throw with a throw of 81.87 meters (286 feet, 6 inches).
