The U.S. Olympic Team Trials – Track & Field in Eugene, Oregon, wrapped up on Sunday (30 June) after eight days of competition at the famed Hayward Field on the campus of the University of Oregon.

The event was split into two four-day chunks, with 25 and 26 June serving as a break.

Reigning 100m world champions Noah Lyles and Sha’Carri Richardson were both triumphant in the 100m, securing their respective spots for Paris 2024.

Richardson led training mates Melissa Jefferson and Twanisha Terry as the top three American women in the 100.

On Sunday (23 June), Lyles was the fastest in the men’s 100, taking first ahead of Kenny Bednarek and Fred Kerley, who will join him at the Games. The men’s 200m saw both Lyles and Bednarek make the team in a second event, with Erriyon Knighton set to join them.

Richardson couldn’t emulate Lyles and Bednarek’s double-sprint success, with Gabby Thomas wining the women’s 200m final as Sha’Carri fell to fourth. It’s Brittany Brown and McKenzie Long who went two-three. Read more here.

At Trials, the top three in each event made the team if they own the Olympic qualifying standard – or a high enough world ranking. Additionally, sprinters will make the team for 4x100m and 4x400m relay pools, with those teams to be decided on the ground in Paris.*
