RIP: Ohio State announced the sudden death of their coach

An Ohio State football legend will “dot the i” against Akron

The Ohio State football program has plenty of legends that they have produced over the years. When you’re as good of a program as they are, it’s bound to happen. The Buckeyes have years of Heisman Trophy winners and national championships won to affirm their greatness.

Perhaps the greatest Ohio State football player of all is Archie Griffin. The legend played under Woody Hayes and is still to this day the only two-time Heisman Trophy winner. While playing for the Buckeyes he amassed just about every honor you possibly can as a collegiate player.

Of all of the honors Griffin has gotten from Ohio State, they have one more to give him. He even scored a touchdown during the Spring Game a few years ago. This year, he will get an honor that very few people who have ever attended Ohio State have ever gotten.

Ohio State football legend Archie Griffin will “dot the i”

Ohio State announced that Archie Griffin will “dot the i” against Akron. The Buckeyes will take on Akron to open up the 2024 season. Griffin becomes one of the very few non-band members to get the honor of dotting the i. The list of those people is very impressive.

Griffin joins the likes of his old coach Woody Hayes, Jack Nicklaus, Bob Hope, John and Annie Glenn, and Earle Bruce. Bruce was actually the most recent non-band member to get the honor to dot the i. This is an incredible honor for someone who has given Ohio State so much.

Griffin will dot the i during the halftime show. He will also be honored during the skull session prior to the game. He’s a Mount Rushmore Ohio State athlete and he is getting the last honor that Ohio State hasn’t given him yet. It will be a great event.
