2024 Olympics women’s basketball schedule, standings, score, live stream: How to watch Team USA, more in Paris
The Americans are riding a 54-game winning streak into Paris
The U.S. Olympic women’s basketball team is chasing its eight consecutive gold medal with a star-studded veteran roster. The first step of the journey starts on June 29 against Japan.
Team USA suffered a 117-109 loss to Team WNBA in the 2024 WNBA All-Star Game, but they quickly shook that off and grabbed a 84-57 win over Germany in an exhibition game on Tuesday. Las Vegas Aces star A’ja Wilson set the tone against Germany with 19 points and 14 rebounds while shooting 53.8% from the field.
That was perhaps a bit of a preview of the first round because Team USA is in Group C along with Germany, Japan and Belgium.
The Americans been dominating the Olympic scene for decades with a 54-game winning streak, and 52 of those games were decided by double digits. Their last loss was in the semifinals of the 1992 Barcelona Games. This year’s roster includes Breanna Stewart, Sabrina Ionescu and Diana Taurasi, who is competing in her sixth and likely final Olympics.
Taurasi has registered 414 points through her five Summer Games, just 74 points shy of Lisa Leslie’s USA Basketball record. Kevin Durant is the all-time leader for the men with 435 points.
Below, we’ll help you keep up with women’s basketball at the 2024 Olympics with up-to-date standings and schedules.
