ex-Iron Maiden Officially Announce Departure From heavy metal …

If there’s one thing metal fans can all agree on, it’s that the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame — and more specifically the people running it — are fucking idiots. For far too long they’ve ignored metal, leaving some of the genre’s most influential acts without any recognition from ever achieving such a “high honor.” Bands like Motorhead, Iron Maiden, Megadeth, and more should already be in it, but they’re not.

During a recent interview with Misplaced Straws, ex-Iron Maiden vocalist Paul Di’Anno blasted the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame after they failed to recognize the iconic British band despite being nominated in 2021 and 2023.

In order to be eligible for inclusion in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, a band has to have put out their first album or single at least 25 years prior to nomination. Seeing as Iron Maiden’s been around for almost fucking double that, it’s insanity to think that they’re still not received the honor.

As it stands, the only metal and metal-adjacent acts in the hall are: Black Sabbath, Metallica, Judas Priest, Van Halen, Guns N’ Roses, Deep Purple, Rush, Kiss, AC/DC, and Led Zeppelin. There are far too many bands missing from that list.

Last year, Iron Maiden finished fourth in the fan vote for potential induction into the Hall. Though they didn’t get enough votes from the general, there’s always a possibility that a band can get brought into the hall by other means.

Still, it’s kinda criminal that a band like Iron Maiden has yet to get in. Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
