Heartbreaking lose: Virginia Tech coach confirmed the departure of key player just now…

This weekend is a big weekend in Blacksburg with Hokie Festand there are going to be a number of recruits on campus that have committed to Virginia Tech and others who have yet to decide on their future.

Several Class of 2025 commits will be back on campus with quarterback AJ Brand, wide receivers Matthew Outten and Micah Matthews, running back Jeff Overton, defensive lineman Zeke Chinwike, and offensive lineman Nathaniel Wright all returning, while Class of 2026 quarterback commit, Peyton Falzone will headline the rising junior visitors. Also coming for a visit is Class of 2026 three-star cornerback Nick Reddish.

One Class of 2025 visitor who has yet to decide on his future is four-star safety Messiah Delhomme and he’ll be in Blacksburg this weekend. The Newport News, Virginia native is the 115th-ranked safety nationally and fourth in Virginia. Delhomme visited on May 31 before taking visits to Virginia, Ohio State, and Maryland.

The 6-foot-1, 196-pound Warwick standout is a star on both sides of the ball as a running back and wide receiver on offense, but defense is going to be likely his spot at the next level. A great track and field athlete, Delhomme is one of the best remaining in-state recruits available and you would have to think that head coach Brent Pry, his staff, and recruits that have committed already and are back on campus would be going all-in to make Delhomme feel at home.

Virginia Tech is up against some good programs when it comes to Delhomme, but one area where Pry has been hitting it big is with his in-state recruiting which has kept some of the top talent in the Commonwealth in the Class of 2025 at home. Adding Delhomme would be another major win in recruiting in the class and you have to think that all the stops are going to be pulled out this weekend.
