Heart’s Ann Wilson recently announced that she has cancer and must undergo preventative chemotherapy in the coming months. The “Barracuda” hitmaker is postponing the band’s Royal Flush Tour with Cheap Trick, originally scheduled to kick off on July 30th, until she is able to make a full recovery. Wilson shared the unfortunate health update across social media, revealing that she already underwent an operation and that she is taking the rest of the year off to heal, per doctor’s orders.
This is merely a pause. I’ve much more to sing.”
Ann’s little sister and bandmate Nancy Wilson shared the news to Instagram, encouraging fans to “stay tuned” for the future of the tour.
The band also had to cancel the European leg of their tour in May as Wilson recovered from her operation.
The “Alone” legend noted that this was the “last public statement” she would make regarding the diagnosis. A specific form of cancer was not revealed as the world awaits positive news regarding Wilson’s health and the future of the Royal Flush Tour.
