just in: Robert Plant teases big announcement with cryptic message on his website…..

In the past week, an intriguing black landing page has appeared on robertplant.com that features the three words “Any time now…”

Early last year, Robert confirmed he had commenced work on a new album with his backing band the Sensational Space Shifters so it’s highly likely he’ll be unveiling details of the follow-up to 2014’s ‘Lullaby and the Ceaseless Roar.’

Announcing his 2016 tour dates, the singer said: “Our recent travels have taken this wild whirlwind of a band though many incredible and inspiring places.

“Having just begun work on our new album, we thought we’d take time out to raise a little sand and welcome springtime with one more adventure, another celebration of life and song.”

Despite Robert himself confirming the new Sensational Space Shifters record, this has done very little stop the insatiable rumour mill from all too predictably erupting with a fresh flurry of Led Zeppelin reunion talk.

Raul Rossell II at website Feel Numb writes that “some well placed sources in the industry” have confirmed to him that Robert has agreed to get back with Led Zeppelin “because of the impending 50-year anniversary” in 2018.

He claims that having reportedly turned down a $14million pay cheque to reform for California’s Desert Trip Festival in 2016, the legendary British rock band will top the bill this year.

However, it all seems highly unlikely considering Robert’s continual shut downs of Led Zeppelin reunion rumours.

He emphatically told Rolling Stone in 2014: “You’re going back to the same old s*. A tour would have been an absolute menagerie of vested interests and the very essence of everything that’s sh** about big-time stadium rock.

“We were surrounded by a circus of people that would have had our souls on the fire. I’m not part of a jukebox!”

Jimmy Page, unsurprisingly, had a different take on matters, telling the magazine: “At the time of the O2 show (Ahmet Ertegun Tribute Concert in December 2007) we were led to believe there were going to be more (shows). You’ll have to ask Robert why he changed his mind. I don’t even know if he considered it. I don’t know what he thinks.”
