Swansea head coach Luke Williams says the club’s tour of Austria will have helped the team bond further.
Swansea rounded off their continental visit with a 1-1 draw with FK Vardar of North Macedonia at Sportzentrum Friedberg last week.
Williams feels the games – coupled with the testing conditions – will have prepared his players for their final game of the summer against Rio Ave at the Swansea.com Stadium on Saturday.
Getting minutes in legs at the weekend will be important, added the head coach.
“It was ideal for us, it allowed us to get minutes into everyone which is important for everyone ahead of the start of the big show,” he said.
“We now have one more friendly to come and we have to try to give everyone the correct amount of minutes to get them in the right way and then it will be time to go.
“It’s been a great week, it’s really allowed us to focus on our work as we wanted to before we came out here.
“We have all been together as a group, there have been no distractions. The conditions are hard when you are out here doing physical work, with a large amount of running and conditioning.
“The players have been incredible, we have had a great experience here and hopefully this will help us feel more bonded together as we head into the season.”
New Swansea City signing Gonçalo Franco says the hard work on tour in Austria is paying dividends ahead of the Championship curtain-raiser against Middlesbrough.
Franco scored his first goal in a Swans shirt in the 1-1 draw with FK Vardar,
Swansea are now back on home soil and preparing for their final pre-season friendly of the summer. Franco has only been in the building for a few weeks but says he is getting up to speed.
“I’m very happy with my goal although I am disappointed about the result. We are a club who always play to win and it would have been good to get the result,” said Franco.
“But I feel better and better physically, and I am ready to help the team try and achieve its goals in the future.
“This trip to Austria helped us a lot to correct some things that we needed to. It has been a good trip and the team is growing day by day. I feel I am doing the same.”
