Public offered rare tour of Loch Ness side mansion Boleskine House, former home of occultist Aleister Crowley and Led Zeppelin guitarist Jimmy Page
A historic Highland mansion twice destroyed by fire is set to open its doors to the public for a rare view of restoration work.
Version 1: The acquisition of Boleskine House by Keith and Kyra Readdy, along with the charitable Boleskine House Foundation, has led to the resurrection of the historic property on the southern shore of Loch Ness near Foyers.
1. The B-listed, 18th century-built house and grounds, once owned by Aleister Crowley and Led Zeppelin guitarist Jimmy Page, have undergone extensive restoration to restore their former grandeur. The property is now being transformed into a center for education, arts, and culture, with a recent grant of £250,000 from The National Lottery Heritage Fund. The restoration work is expected to be completed by the end of this year. The Readdys are making preparations to open the property to the public with free entry on Saturday, August 31. A spokeswoman for the Foundation has invited the public to join a special open house event at Boleskine House, celebrating the remarkable transformation of this historic site. The restoration project aims to turn the once burnt-out shell into a shining example of architectural heritage and modern sustainability.
