Kristjaan Speakman may have second thoughts on one Sunderland gem after recent display
The Sunderland youngster could still yet turn around his fortunes at the Stadium of Light.
With the summer transfer deadline fast approaching, Sunderland will be looking to wrap up their business, with attackers most certainly taking priority at this stage.
Any hopes to get a deal over the line for long-term target Alexandre Mendy appear to be dwindling, and as a result a deal for Tom Cannon has been pursued as a decent alternative, with Sunderland lodging a £5million bid for the Leicester City striker.
As well as strikers, wingers may be towards the top of the priority list for Regis Le Bris’ side this summer following the sale of Jack Clarke to Premier League side Ipswich Town, leaving wide options fairly scarce.
The signing of Ian Poveda was made earlier this summer, however the Colombian international is set to be eased back into contention after coming back from injury, leaving current wide options at just Patrick Roberts, Romaine Mundle and Jewison Bennette.
Bennette has been out of favour so far with French boss Le Bris, however there still is a chance he could turn his Sunderland career around in the coming days.
