I won’t player again: Coventry City star player just announce his departure due to…..

Coventry City Block High Profiled Exit

Coventry City have developed a strong reputation for developing players over the last few seasons, but despite interest in one of their players – he won’t be leaving this summer.

The Sky Blues have picked up four points from their opening three Championship matches, which is already an improvement from the previous two seasons and have progressed to the next round of the EFL Cup.

Mark Robins’ side have brought in several players this summer including Jack Rudoni and Oliver Dovin as well as the arrival of January addition Ephron Mason-Clark.

However, with one of their existing players attracting interest, it appears that Coventry have made their stance clear.

Van-Ewijk set to stay

According to Dutch journalist Marco Timmer, Coventry City have shut down a potential exit for full-back Milan Van Ewijk by insisting that he isn’t available at this stage of the transfer window.

Dutch giants PSV were previously linked with the full-back earlier this summer but the Sky Blues have since allowed Jack Burroughs to depart on loan, leaving Van Ewijk as their only first-team right-back.

This suggests that he won’t be leaving the CBS Arena this summer, especially with the transfer window closing in a matter of days.

Manager Mark Robins has already confirmed via Coventry Live that it would take “record bids” for the Sky Blues to consider selling anyone.

Coventry’s current record departure is Swedish international Viktor Gyokeres who left for an initial £17.5m in July 2023 to Sporting CP.

How has Van Ewijk fared this season?

The 23-year-old has featured in all four of Coventry’s matches so far this season, scoring once and providing an additional assist.

Both goal contributions arrived during Coventry’s 3-2 victory against newly-promoted Oxford United.

Van Ewijk joined the Sky Blues from Dutch side SC Heerenveen last summer for a seven-figure fee, contributing to seven goals in 49 matches during his debut campaign as Mark Robins’ side reached the FA Cup semi-finals.

Due to the window closing in a few days time, it seems extremely unlikely that Van Ewijk will be sold this summer.
