Major Carter-Vickers injury update after Celtic moon boot pic
Cameron Carter-Vickers does not face a lengthy injury layoff despite fears after an image surfaced of the defender sporting a moon boot, according to a report.
The Celtic centre-back played the entirety of the 3-0 win over Rangers on Sunday.
However, there were fears of an injury when he left Celtic Park with a protective boot on his left leg.
Carter-Vickers had been given the day off training ahead of the match with Brendan Rodgers revealing his absence was precautionary.
Now, The Scottish Sun report the protective boot is also a precautionary measure and not indicative of a spell on the sidelines.
Carter-Vickers is not set to be involved with the USA squad during the international break and so will have time to shake off a minor knock.
It’s reported the defender is still suffering a little from an issue picked up against St Mirren last weekend.
The newspaper reports Carter-Vickers is expected to be back to fitness to face Hearts in the first league match after the international break.
Asked about his training absence on Friday ahead of the win over Rangers, Rodgers said: “No, it’s just about giving him a wee day of recovery.
“Sometimes we do that in our sessions.
“When players are overloaded, we can take one or two out and give them a recovery day having worked hard all week.”
