Melbourne star Christian Petracca has finally put weeks of speculation about his future at the club to bed.
The Norm Smith medallist was edging towards a shock exit with the relationship between the club and his teammates reportedly reaching breaking point.
However, after being linked to a bombshell move to Carlton, Petracca has now released a statement on his long-term plans.
“Over the last few weeks, there’s been a lot of speculation regarding my role at Melbourne,” Petracca said.
“This has occurred as part of the end-of-year review process, in which I voiced my concerns as a leader, wanting better for our club, playing group, and fans.
“I make no apologies for wanting to better our club and contribute to our success both on and off the field.
“I love my footy – it remains my number one priority and always has been. As for my future at the Melbourne Football Club, I remain committed to playing for the red and the blue.”
Petracca’s contract with the Demons expires at the end of the 2029 season.
Gold Coast has told Jack Lukosius that he can explore a trade away from the club if he wishes.
The swingman has long been rumoured to be seeking a move back to South Australia after failing to excel at the Suns.
Adelaide and Port Adelaide are both interested in Lukosius services, per Tom Morris,
Gold Coast has also told the player he is welcome to stay.
