Highlights from the ‘Sip: Alabama commits Caleb Cunningham, AK Dear in game action this week
High School football is in full swing and Bama247 is continuing its following of Alabama commits in the No. 2 recruiting class as well as the 2026 and 2027 classes. The most recent stop on the fall tour, of sorts? Mississippi for our first in-game looks at five-star receiver Caleb Cunningham and No. 1 running back Akylin Dear!
Dear and Quitman (MS) High School hosted rival Heidelberg (MS) on Thursday night while Choctaw County (MS) High School played their first game on their brand new field Friday night. The rain held off, for the most part, throughout both games and even produced some beautiful skylines including a FNF rainbow, a complete I might add. Check it out HERE. Thursday night started off with a nice surprise as well with a pre-kickoff flyover, for a high school game. Watch that HERE.
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — Alabama will be monitoring the status of several key players dealing with injuries before Saturday’s trip to Wisconsin.
Wide receiver Cole Adams suffered an “upper extremity” injury against South Florida this past weekend, according to coach Kalen DeBoer, and will be limited early in the week. But DeBoer said he hasn’t been ruled out of the game.
The 5-foot-10 freshman from Oklahoma turned heads this spring, to the point that receivers coach JaMarcus Shephard dubbed him “Mr. Reliable.”
Starting left tackle Kadyn Proctor, who is dealing with a shoulder injury he sustained during warmups of the season-opener two weeks ago, is “coming along really well.”
DeBoer said they’ll continue working with Proctor’s “functional movement” early in the week and expects him to be “pretty dang close by the weekend.”
Rounding out DeBoer’s injury update was the status of offensive tackle Elijah Pritchett.
Pritchett injured his ankle during the season-opener and came off the bench late against USF.
