No. 4 Alabama Wins First Road Game of Kalen DeBoer Era, 42-10, Over Wisconsin
MADISON, Wis. — Head coach Kalen DeBoer passed his first road test after No. 4 Alabama defeated Wisconsin 42-10 in the notoriously loud Camp Randall Stadium.
As the score suggests, Alabama’s offense was extremely potent against this Big Ten team. This was largely due in part to the performance by Crimson Tide quarterback Jalen Milroe.
Since earning the starting job last season, Milroe has constantly been critiqued for his lack of passing due to his scrambling play style. He was a true dual threat on Saturday against Wisconsin (2-1) as he recorded 14 carries for 75 yards and two touchdowns, while also doing well through the air as he completed 12 passes on 17 attempts and three touchdowns.
In addition, the Tide’s defense was relatively stout all afternoon, especially in the tackle department, as LT Overton, Keon Sabb, Malachi Moore, Deontae Lawson and Jihaad Campbell each had six-plus tackles.
After struggling with the turnover margin during the first two games of the season, Alabama (3-0) won this category on Saturday, as the Tide recovered two fumbles and didn’t turn the ball over once.
