The Denver Broncos dropped to 0-2 on Sunday following an ugly 13-6 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers at home.

After the Broncos and Steelers exchanged three-and-outs on their opening drives, Pittsburgh took a 7-0 lead with a Justin Fields touchdown pass late in the first quarter. The Steelers later added a field goal to take a 10-0 lead into halftime.

In the third quarter, Denver used a trick play that led to a 49-yard Bo Nix pass that got the ball down to Pittsburgh’s seven-yard line. Two plays later, Nix threw an interception on a pass intended for Courtland Sutton in the end zone. The Steelers scored a field goal off that turnover to make it 13-0.

Broncos kicker Wil Lutz converted a 35-yard field goal in the fourth quarter to cut the deficit to 13-3. Lutz kicked another field goal late to make it 13-6. Denver then got the ball back again late but Nix threw another interception on the final play of the game.

Broncos defensive lineman John Franklin-Myers left late in the first quarter and was later ruled out with a concussion. Denver pass rusher Baron Browning also left in the first half with a foot injury and did not return. Broncos safety JL Skinner injured his ankle in the fourth quarter. Denver right tackle Mike McGlinchey also left the game with an injury.

Up next for the Broncos is a road game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 3.
