Wales eased their way to victory over Montenegro in the UEFA Nations League
Wales earned their first win under Craig Bellamy in Montenegro on Monday night. You can read the match report here.
Here’s how the players rated in Niksic.
Karl Darlow 7
Nearly caught out by Jovetic in the first half and was saved by the crossbar, but made some smart saves to keep Montenegro at bay.
Chris Mepham 7
Didn’t do an awful lot wrong, but did occasionally find himself outpaced in the first half. Did well to dig in after the break. Made more clearances than any other player.
Joe Rodon 7
Made some really good tackles and clearances to keep his side in it. However, was perhaps done a little too easily in the build-up to Montenegro’s goal.
Ben Davies 8
Another really good performance. Defensively so solid again. Made a superb intervention on the line early on.
Connor Roberts 6
Was pretty quiet by this standards. Forced off with an injury. Subbed.
Ollie Cooper 6
Showed some real steel in the middle, but couldn’t quite find that creative spark at times. Still, a decent first international start. Subbed.
Ethan Ampadu 6
Made some decent contributions defensively, but just wasn’t as influential as normal.
Neco Williams 7
So often at the heart of his side’s more promising moves. Couldn’t always find the final ball, but never stopped working. Earned an assist.
Lewis Koumas 6
Showed some promising flashes and looked after possession well enough. A decent first start, but certainly more to come. Subbed.
Kieffer Moore 7
Showed terrific predatory instinct for opening goal. An aerial nuisance all night too. Did miss a sitter in the second half, mind. Subbed.
Harry Wilson 8 – STAR MAN
Was constantly looking to make something happen. So much energy all evening. Goal was sublime. Subbed.
