Guardians Successful Campaign Extends To Their Minor League Teams
The Lake County Captains, the Cleveland Guardians’ High-A team, were crowned champions of the Midwest League on Wednesday.
That’s where No. 1 overall pick Travis Bazzana plays: the Australian notched his first title as a professional baseball player.
As the Captains showed how good Guardians prospects in High-A are, it’s fair to point out that the entire Cleveland’s farm system is elite
All we have to do is check how each minor league affiliate did in 2024, not to mention the resounding success of the MLB team.
“The fact that Cleveland, Columbus, Akron, and Lake County will all play in the postseason is incredible. The present and future are so exciting for this organization!”, Guardians of the Land posted on X
The Guardians still aren’t officially in the postseason, but their magic number is one and they should seal their ticket within the next two days.
Then you have the Columbus Clippers of Triple-A: they clinched, on Wednesday, the International League’s Second Half title, sealing their ticket to the playoffs.
Beginning on Tuesday, the Clippers will play a best-of-three Championship Series with the Omaha Storm Chasers to decide the International League champs.
The Akron RubberDucks, the Guards’ Double-A team, are currently playing the Eastern League Division Series.
It has been a marvelous year for Cleveland baseball, as the organization appears to be in an excellent position to succeed in 2024 and the future.
They drafted well, they developed their talent, and they tailored it to the MLB club needs.
The Guards have built a sustainable monster that should be highly competitive for years to come
