HAIDEN DEEGAN INJURY UPDATE: CONFIRMED FOR 2024 DETROIT SUPERCROSS
The Detroit Supercross is set to be the fifth round of the 2024 Monster Energy Supercross season, but it’s the first round of the 250SX East series. The Detroit SX 250 entry list consists of 54 riders, but the rider with the most popularity and the biggest storyline is Haiden Deegan. The youngster entered his rookie season with a lot of hype and he lived up to it with multiple podiums in Supercross, wins outdoors, and earned the overall 250 SuperMotocross Championship at the end of the year.
During the offseason, Haiden had a pre-season crash that injured his wrist and kept him off the bike. Leading into this weekend’s race, Supercross held a 250SX East Coast pre-season press conference via Zoom call, and Haiden explained the injury on the call. Of course, he downplayed the injury to make sure his competitors wouldn’t feel like they had an upper hand on the young star.
Haiden Deegan talked in the Detroit Supercross pre-race press conference: “I had a crash, and I sprained my wrist pretty bad. It was only like a week off. I was trying to train low-key, I wasn’t posting much for a while. Just kind of locked in, I didn’t have my filmer come to the track. Just this last week or so, it’s about go time, so I was like, we can get some videos up and get into the flow of things. But yeah, we did have a crash, hurt the wrist a little, but nothing major. We ended up being good. We have a wrist brace on it now, for just a little more support, because it is sore sometimes, but we’re chillin’.”
