Predictions for Alabama’s six remaining regular season games
Up to this point in the 2024 college football season, the Alabama Crimson Tide have been nothing short of up-and-down.
After an impressive season-opening win over Western Kentucky, Alabama struggled at times with South Florida in Week 2, and then backed that up with a dominant showing on the road at Wisconsin. Alabama then had arguably college football’s top win of the season with a home victory over Georgia, but would then fall at Vanderbilt in a shocking result, as well as barely defeat South Carolina at home.
Now at the midway point in Alabama’s regular season schedule, the Crimson Tide have a challenging road ahead if they want to make the College Football Playoff, especially considering that they already have one loss. Because of this, Alabama will most likely have to win out during the regular season, if not lose only one game at the most.
Let’s make some predictions for all six of Alabama’s remaining regular season games, starting with this Saturday in Knoxville:
Beginning this Saturday, Alabama has the first-of-three notable road trips remaining on their regular season schedule, as the Crimson Tide travel to for a matchup with the rival Tennessee Volunteers. This game is certainly a toss-up going in, but look for Alabama to come away with a close victory that could begin to build some momentum for the Crimson Tide after a rough last two weeks.
Look for Alabama to continue that previously mentioned momentum here when the Crimson Tide welcome the Missouri Tigers to Tuscaloosa. While the Tigers are certainly a talented team, they should be the underdogs against the Crimson Tide, meaning that Alabama should come away with the victory.
Back during the Crimson Tide’s bye week, this was a game predicted that Alabama could lose, and that thought remains the same here. While the Crimson Tide could easily win this game as well, the trip to Baton Rouge seems like Alabama’s likeliest road loss, especially with the LSU Tigers seemingly getting better-and-better by the week.
This is likely a guaranteed win on Alabama’s remaining schedule. Expect a big victory for the Crimson Tide here, as Mercer will not be able to match Alabama’s offensive production.
Alabama’s last true road game of the season, the Crimson Tide will likely be favored against the Oklahoma Sooners, but this is still a tricky matchup for the program in Norman. This should still be an Alabama victory, but will be a game that the Crimson Tide cannot take lightly in front of what will likely be a packed stadium in Norman.
“The Iron Bowl” will once again conclude Alabama’s regular season, with this year’s matchup set to take place in Tuscaloosa. Alabama has rarely lost this game at home in recent years, and with the Auburn Tigers having struggled so far this season, this should be another victory for the Crimson Tide here.
