Philadelphia Eagles stars tee off with former President Obama after Key win over Bengals

The Eagles are 5-2 heading into Week 9 of the 2024 NFL regular season

Fresh off their commanding 37-17 win over the Cincinnati Bengals, a ocuple of Philadelphia Eagles stars spent their Tuesday on the golf course with none other than former President Barack Obama.

Obama hits the links with Jalen Hurts & Saquon Barkley

Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts, running back Saquon Barkley, and team owner Jeffrey Lurie joined Obama for a day on the links, sharing some quality downtime as the team geared up for its next NFL matchup.

The outing comes amid a surge of optimism for Philadelphia.

The team now sits at 5-2, riding a three-game winning streak that has fans hopeful for a deep playoff run.

Barkley and Hurts, both pivotal in recent wins, found time to unwind, joined by Lurie, who reportedly advised Hurts to avoid golf this offseason as a precaution against injury.

However, an invitation to golf with a former President seemed too significant to pass up.

Obama’s presence in Philadelphia was part of a broader initiative to rally voter engagement days before the 2024 presidential election, as he appeared alongside music icon Bruce Springsteen at the “When We Vote We Win” concert.

Barkley & Hurts dominate against the Bengals

Since joining the Eagles, Barkley has made an instant impact, ranking second in the NFL with 766 rushing yards and boasting five touchdowns.

The star running back has become a force on the field, and his offseason dedication to learning golf added a new layer to his skillset.

Hurts, who has led the Eagles’ recent resurgence, has been on a tear as well, racking up nine total touchdowns and no turnovers during the winning streak.

Their victory over the Bengals showed Hurts’ multifaceted skill, as he logged three rushing touchdowns and became the first quarterback in NFL history to have three games with three rushing scores.

That performance also extended Hurts’ own record for games with multiple rushing touchdowns by a quarterback, affirming his place in NFL history.
