The Miami Hurricanes have had a phenomenal 2024 college football season, holding a 10-2 record heading into their bowl game and a 6-2 mark in ACC play. While they’re inching closer to becoming a national title-contending team under head coach Mario Cristobal, the Hurricanes found themselves as the No. 13 team in the College Football Playoff rankings. It put Miami on the outside looking in for CFP play. As the hype builds around the Hurricanes program, recruits around the country have bought in. On Thursday, Miami picked up a major commitment from Arizona cornerback transfer Emmanuel Karnley. After a productive 2024 season with the Wildcats, Karnley will have three years of eligibility remaining.
During the 2024 college football season, Karnley produced five pass deflections and 16 tackles.
According to Gaby Urrutia at Inside The U, Karnley visited Miami during the first weekend of the transfer portal, which opened on Dec. 9. He’s listed as the No. 6 cornerback and No. 68 overall player in the 247Sports transfer portal rankings. While Karnley makes his way to Miami, the Hurricanes will prepare for a Pop-Tarts Bowl matchup against the Iowa State Cyclones.
Miami is set to face the Cyclones on Dec. 28 at 3:30 p.m. ET. The Hurricanes enter the bowl game matchup as a 3.5-point favorite, per ESPN BET.
