Good News: Four Gamecocks Earn All-America Status

In a remarkable display of talent and excellence, four members of the South Carolina Gamecocks women’s basketball team have earned All-America honors for the 2024–2025 season. This achievement underscores the program’s continued dominance under head coach Dawn Staley.

1. Chloe Kitts – Junior Forward

Chloe Kitts has been a standout performer for the Gamecocks this season. She led the team in rebounding, averaging 7.88 boards per game, and was ranked ninth in the SEC for this category. Kitts also recorded a triple-double against Ole Miss, marking just the second such feat in SEC history for South Carolina. Her all-around performance was instrumental in the Gamecocks securing their third consecutive SEC Tournament title.

2. Joyce Edwards – Freshman Guard

Freshman Joyce Edwards made an immediate impact, leading the team in scoring with an average of 13.2 points per game. She was recognized as a First-Team All-SEC selection, becoming only the third Gamecock freshman to earn this honor. Edwards also demonstrated efficiency, ranking fourth in the SEC in field goal percentage at .550. Her scoring prowess was vital in the Gamecocks’ success throughout the season.

3. Te-Hina Paopao – Senior Guard

Senior Te-Hina Paopao provided veteran leadership and stability to the Gamecocks. She averaged 9.8 points per game and was the team’s primary playmaker, recording 3.0 assists per game. Paopao’s performance against ranked opponents was particularly noteworthy, as she increased her scoring average to 10.5 points per game while shooting 46.6% from the field. Her contributions were crucial in guiding the team through challenging matchups.

4. MiLaysia Fulwiley – Sophomore Guard

Sophomore MiLaysia Fulwiley earned recognition as the SEC Sixth Woman of the Year and a Second-Team All-SEC selection. She averaged 12.0 points per game, with a higher average of 13.4 points per game in SEC play. Fulwiley’s defensive abilities were also highlighted, as she ranked among the top 10 in the SEC for blocks and steals per game. Her dynamic play was a key factor in the Gamecocks’ success throughout the season.

Program Milestone

This marks the third time in program history that four Gamecocks have earned All-America honors in the same season. Additionally, it is the 12th consecutive season in which at least one Gamecock has received an All-America nod, reflecting the sustained excellence of the program.
