Paul Mullin could make his Wrexham return against these Championship clubs on one condition
Paul Mullin has left Wrexham this summer but a return during the 2025/26 Championship season remains possible.
The Red Dragons are now competing in the second tier of English football for the first time since the 1980s.
Wrexham will face Southampton in what will be their first-ever game in the rebranded Championship.
Ollie Palmer has spoken about facing the Saints, though his future at the club remains in doubt after his snub in the second half of last season.
Palmer did not feature in the league for Wrexham after January alongside fellow striker Paul Mullin.
Mullin has joined Wigan Athletic on a season-long loan deal, but the 30-year-old could return for Wrexham during the forthcoming campaign.

Championship fixtures Paul Mullin could make his Wrexham return in
Mullin’s Wigan loan details have been explained already by journalist Nathan Salt.
He said: “I’m led to believe: 50/50 on the wages, no option to buy there, recall option in January.”
It means Wrexham fans could see Mullin back in their squad as early as January next year.
And with the Red Dragons’ Championship fixtures now released, we have a good idea of the games the striker could return in if he’s recalled.
- Thursday January 1 – Blackburn Rovers (A) – 3pm
- Sunday January 4 – Derby County (A) – 3pm
- Saturday January 17 – Norwich City (H) – 3pm
- Tuesday January 20 – Leicester City (H) – 7.45pm
- Saturday January 24 – Queens Park Rangers (A) – 3pm
- Saturday January 31 – Sheffield Wednesday (A) – 3pm
Should Mullin be recalled at the end of the 2026 January transfer window, the first Championship game for Wrexham after that comes against Millwall.
- Saturday February 7 – Millwall (H) – 3pm

Paul Mullin on playing in Championship
Mullin remains under contract with Wrexham until the summer of 2027.
Depending on what takes place over the next 12 months, there remains a chance he could accomplish a big goal of his.
Speaking on Season 4 Episode 6 of Welcome to Wrexham, Mullin discussed playing in the Championship for Wrexham and what it would mean to him.
He said: “Just to play one game in the Championship at Wrexham would be worth absolutely everything, be the icing on the cake for this story, who knows where it could end.
“I’ve enjoyed absolutely every minute here.”
