Steven Gerrard to Leicester City ‘double-barrelled’ as major questions asked
The Foxes are looking for a new boss in the wake of Ruud van Nistelrooy’s departure last week, following relegation from the Premier League
There are two “$64m questions” over whether Steven Gerrard would be a good choice as Leicester City’s new boss.
That’s the view of Sky Sports pundit Don Goodman as he addressed the managerial situation at the King Power Stadium.

Gerrard is a free agent after leaving Saudi Pro League club Al-Ettifaq, after previous spells in charge of Rangers and Aston Villa.

Gerrard enjoyed success at Rangers, winning the Scottish Premiership title, but was sacked by Villa after less than a year.
Assessing his credentials amid City’s search for a new leader, Goodman told Football League World: “It’s very hard to judge, because he obviously did amazing with Rangers in the SPL, didn’t go well with Aston Villa in the Premier League, and how do you judge his efforts in the Saudi Pro League. It’s very, very difficult.”
Goodman believes a potential stumbling block for Leicester in appointing a new manager is the threat of the club starting the new season with a points deduction.
City have been charged with three possible breaches of Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR) that could see them start the campaign on negative points.
“There is a possible points deduction looming over them, no doubt there will be a massive overhaul of the playing squad, with lots of their best players wanting to leave.
“So, it’s double-barrelled. Does Steven Gerrard’s managerial career so far warrant an opportunity at a club like Leicester?
“And, if it does, is Leicester at this moment an attractive proposition for Steven Gerrard? Those are your $64million questions.”
Leicester target confirms interest as ex-Foxes star signs for rivals
Leicester City have a few targets this summer, that’s if we trust transfer speculation concerning the East Midlanders. The Foxes certainly require reinforcements of starting quality. Not to mention LCFC bosses having to seek lesser quality filler athletes to complete the flailing and decreasing roster. One apparently wanted man on Filbert Way has seemingly confirmed interest emanating from King Power Stadium.
We briefly describe the footballer in question, as well as providing our view on the rumour and comments. Meanwhile an ex-Foxes star has signed for one of Leicester’s Midlands rivals, albeit not a ferocious foe. I actually predicted this one-time Fox to come back and haunt (score against) our side upon his departure from Leicestershire years ago. Which club has the winger signed for? And when do City face this Championship outfit?
Former Foxes star signs for rivals
Do you remember Demarai Gray? I do. He was a Leicester signing with so much ability and promise. Though the native brummie did not fulfil that potential. He always seemed more concerned with image and off the pitch nonsense.
Gray is now a Birmingham City player. He graduated from the Blues’ academy many seasons ago. A decade on, he’s back at St. Andrew’s @ Knighthead Park. Gray will undoubtedly grab a goal when the two teams meet in the league on August 30 or February 7.
Leicester City target confirms interest
Deportivo de La Coruña’s Yeremay Hernández is pretty much established on City’s wishlist this summer. The thrilling winger is also the subject of apparent interest from LCFC’s Midlands rivals Wolverhampton Wanderers.
