Maksym Talovierov signs for Stoke City
Maksym Talovierov has joined Stoke City.
The Ukrainian international signs for the Potters in a transfer deal which sees Argyle recoup the money paid for Talovierov when he signed in January, and also includes a sell-on clause.
Talovierov became a Pilgrim at the end of the winter transfer window, signing from Austrian club LASK, going on to play 13 times in green and white.
The central defender scored twice; his first goal was a point-earner in a 1-1 draw at Luton Town, and his second will be re-shown for years, coming as it did at the Etihad Stadium, putting Argyle 1-0 up against Manchester City.
We wish Maxi all the best for the future.

New Signing: Alex MacAllister Joins the Stoke
We’re pleased to welcome 21-year-old forward Alex MacAllister to the club, adding to our attacking line ahead of the 2025/26 season.
The forward most recently featured for Alton, with earlier spells at Leatherheadand Hartley Wintney in the same season, as well as loan stints at Sholing and Welling United during his time with Aldershot Town.
Despite a tough year last season, Alex arrives with a renewed focus and fire. A forward who thrives on sharp movement, great technical ability and a top finisher.
Manager Dan Brownlie commented:
“Alex and I spoke over the Summer; and I have to admit he was impressive in the way he went about it. There’s a devil in his eye that suggests he really wants to kick on this season, and we’re hopeful we can provide that platform. He’s looked good in training and he already knows a few of the boys – so hopefully he’s got the chance to settle in quite quickly.”
MacAllister will link up with the squad immediately as we enter the heart of pre-season preparations. We’re excited to see what he brings to the table in the months ahead.
Every Championship transfer so far this summer as Birmingham City set pace
Stoke City and most of their rivals have been busy behind the scenes trying to improve their squads for the new season
The Championship transfer window, as expected, has shifted up a gear since clubs returned for pre-season and, as expected, it is Birmingham City who have set the pace.
The big-spending Blues have been making a splash in the last few days, getting deals over the line for Demarai Gray, Bright Osaqyi-Samuel, James Beadle and Tommy Doyle as they rebuild their squad after a year in League One.
Fellow promoted side Charlton Athletic have had a busy week too as Nathan Jones has returned to his old club Luton Town to sign keeper Thomas Kaminski and left-back Amari’i Bell.
It seems like the calm before the storm at Wrexham, who have moved for Danny Ward and Ryan Hardie so far.

There has been theme to the bulk of Derby County’s business so far as John Eustace has turned to grizzled Championship veterans Danny Batth, Andi Weimann and Carlton Morris.
Coventry City, who don’t seem to have that many spots to fill, have been able to set aside a decent chunk of a summer budget on right-back Kaine Kesler-Hayden from Aston Villa. Millwall smashed their transfer record to sign striker Josh Coburn, who had spent last season on loan at the Den from Middlesbrough.
Norwich City haven’t been hanging about either after banking ÂŁ14m for Jonathan Rowe, and Josh Sargent and Borja Sainz also likely to fetch decent fees. Goalkeeper Vladan Kovacevic and centre-halves Harry Darling and Jakov Medic will give the team a new base while midfielder Jacob Wright has joined from Manchester City after a loan spell.
Gary Rowett has been shopping in the Netherlands for Oxford United, hoping he has as much success with Brian de Keersmaecker as he did with Zian Flemming at Millwall..
Hull City and Sheffield Wednesday are under transfer embargoes while managerless Leicester City seem to have been struggling to get their house in order.
