Chris Wilder in contention for Championship job after Sheffield United sacking
Leicester City are considering Chris Wilder as a potential managerial target, according to a report from The Sun.
Leicester City are a club in crisis as they prepare for their return to Championship football. LCFC have the threat of a points deduction over them and they are now officially managerless.
Ruud van Nistelrooy was widely expected to be relieved of his duties at an earlier date, but his departure was only confirmed in late June.

The Foxes likely will have had a good idea of who they would target as a replacement for some time now, but a fresh name has emerged on the radar at the King Power Stadium.
According to The Sun, Leicester City have shortlisted former Sheffield United boss Chris Wilder as a contender for their vacant managerial post.
It is said that his agent has close ties with the Foxes, which is boosting his chances of landing the gig.
The report reiterates previous reports of LCFC interest in Sean Dyche, who has been out of work since leaving in January. There are some concerns over whether his strong character could be a little too much for club chiefs though.
Danny Rohl, who is moving ever-closing to a Sheffield Wednesday exit, remains in the frame too.
A popular appointment?
Wilder may not have succeeded at Middlesbrough or in his short-term spell at Watford, but his record at Sheffield United speaks for itself and will appeal to Leicester City chiefs.
He is steeped in Bramall Lane history after lifting them from League One to the top half of the Premier League in his first stint. And, in his second spell from December 2023 to June 2025, he oversaw an impressive rebuild after relegation.
