Another high-profile sponsor is now on board, with Ancestry signing a deal to become Wrexham’s Official Family History Partner.

Wrexham have confirmed that Ancestry will feature on the front of the new training wear, which will be shown off during the pre-season trip to Australia and New Zealand.

McElhenney and Reynolds have offered their reaction to the deal, joking that the deal would be worth it just for finding out the histories of people named Davies, Williams and Jones in the Wrexham area.

“Ancestry is an amazing brand and if they can help us make sense of all the Davies, Williamses and Joneses in Wrexham, the partnership will be worth it for that alone!” said McElhenney and Reynolds in a joint statement.

Wrexham CEO Michael Williamson also offered comments, suggesting that Ancestry is a perfect fit for the history of Wrexham.

“We’re delighted to welcome Ancestry as our new Official Club Partner now featuring on the front of the Club’s new training wear,” said Williamson.

“As our Club anthem declares, ‘History Only Tells A Story’ and we can think of no brand which understands that better – helping to tell the stories and unlock the heritage of millions of people across the world. History and storytelling are woven into our DNA at Wrexham AFC, and we look forward to working with Ancestry to help strengthen the historical connections of not just our Football Club but of our supporters too,” he added.
