Norwich City’s Josh Sargent asking price revealed as Burnley battle Premier League rivals
Norwich City are doing great business in the transfer market this summer, but they may be set to lose Josh Sargent very soon, and EFL Analysis can exclusively reveal how much the Canaries want for their star man.
After a top-class campaign on a personal level, it’s no surprise that Sargent is a wanted man this summer, and Norwich are all but resigned to losing him now.
In fact, the Canaries have already arranged his replacement, with Mathias Kvistgaarden on the brink of joining Liam Manning’s Carrow Road revolution.
While Sargent had been linked with a Daniel Farke reunion at Leeds United, it now appears to be Burnley that are moving into pole position to sign the USA striker.

Burnley may have to pay £18m for Josh Sargent
Whoever wins the race for Sargent, it looks as though we’ll see a new entry on the list of Norwich’s most expensive sales, as EFL Analysis can exclusively reveal the price tag the Canaries have placed on the 25-year-old.
As per information from our Chief Football Correspondent Graeme Bailey, we understand Norwich have set an asking price of £18m for Sargent. However, that value would include any add-ons and would be the total sum any club would need to pay.
Regarding the clubs chasing Sargent, we are told Burnley are pushing for a deal, and that the player himself is open to the move as he is keen on a return to the Premier League.
Both Sunderland and Leeds United are also in the race, as are clubs across Europe, namely Italy and Germany.

Can Josh Sargent flourish in the Premier League?
Josh Sargent will have a lot to prove if and when he steps back up to the Premier League. In his solitary campaign in the top flight, the forward has just two goals in 26 matches from the 2021/22 season.
There is no denying Sargent can cut it at Championship level. In his three campaigns in the second tier, he’s scored 13 goals in 2022/23, 16 in 2023/24, and then 15 goals last season.
Statistics | Josh Sargent |
Premier League appearances | 26 |
Premier League goals | 2 |
Championship appearances | 100 |
Championship goals | 44 |
Now, it almost feels like make-or-break time for the US international as he looks to take his career to the next level.
He’s proven he’s one of the best players in the Championship, but all eyes will be on Sargent to see if he is truly a top tier striker or not next season.
Norwich City have secured a huge financial win in Mathias Kvistgaarden deal, it’s a Ben Knapper masterstroke
Liam Manning is quickly building a very strong Norwich City side.
While Borja Sainz is closing in on a move to Porto, Jacob Wright has already joined permanently and the goalkeeper situation at Carrow Road has been sorted.
Now, Mathias Kvistgaarden is having a medical with the Canaries as the club continue to spend. However, Manning has a significant transfer kitty and he is showing his confidence in using it.
Nevertheless, after the Dane was first thought to be on his way to Norfolk for £12m, it has been revealed that Norwich will be spending much less.

Mathias Kvistgaarden is set to join Norwich City for significantly less than originally thought
Kvistgaarden will join the Canaries from Brondby, and there was interest from elsewhere – including French outfit Lens.

However, they were priced out of a move and according to Paddy Davitt, Norwich have secured a deal for just £6.9m after Ben Knapper found a release clause in the striker’s contract.
The 23-year-old has been keen on a move to Carrow Road and he has arrived in the country for his medical.
There will be a sell-on clause for Brondby and several other clauses, but it will keep the purchase below Norwich’s record buy.

Josh Sargent may now have the green light to leave
It’s not just Sainz who looks like he will be leaving the club this summer, with Josh Sargent of interest to Leeds United.
The American will be keen to play at the highest level he can in 2025/26 ahead of the World Cup in his home country next summer. Now that a replacement has been found, Sargent will surely be free to leave Norwich.
Goals from elsewhere are definitely needed for the Canaries next season, and Kvistgaarden will help provide those as Manning looks to end the Norfolk side’s Premier League hiatus.
