Brentford submit £35m bid for Bryan Mbeumo replacement as domino falls for Man Utd transfer
Manchester United have spent more than 45 days trying to agree a fee for Bryan Mbeumo and now there have been steps toward an agreement.
The story of the summer so far has been Bryan Mbeumo to Old Trafford.
The devastating talent who currently plays for Brentford became Manchester United’s number one target this summer following the rapid addition of Matheus Cunha on June 1st.
United have been engaged in Mbeumo talks for over a month, with two bids being rejected including the latest one which was valued at around £63m.
However, United remain confident of taking Mbeumo on the US tour later this month as talks continue.
There is thought to be a considerable gap between United and Brentford right now, which has led to alternatives being discussed in the fanbase.
But now a domino has fallen which indicates that Brentford may have found their replacement.

Brentford submit offer for Omari Hutchinson
Brentford’s current record signing is £28.6m for Igor Thiago last summer, which makes the bid submitted to sign a potential Mbeumo replacement a huge statement.
It was claimed earlier this week that Brentford identified Omari Hutchinson as their Mbeumo replacement with the Ipswich star looking to step into the Premier League again.
According to Daily Mail journalist Tom Collomosse, Brentford have now made their approach for Hutchinson.
The X post revealed that the Bees had offered £35m to Ipswich for Hutchinson, with the journalist believing that this would trigger the release clause of the 21-year-old.
However, The Athletic have previously claimed that the release clause expired on July 15, while news of the bid comes early on the 16th. There is a chance that the bid was made in time, and we will soon find out.
Hutchinson may have been an Mbeumo alternative for United, but Brentford making a move all but certainly will see the Cameroon international finally move to the Red Devils.

Manchester United finally making progress for Bryan Mbeumo
Given the bid for Hutchinson breaks their transfer record by £7m, the fee is surely with knowledge of a large sum coming in over the next few days.
This could represent progress in the bid to sign Mbeumo with Brentford asking to be allowed to arrange his replacement prior to the transfer going through.
Mbeumo has been dreaming of a United move and Ineos have let him down with these slow negotiations as he should be in pre-season right now, but as long as the club can get him through the doors this week then there will to a degree be damage limitation.
Dominos are now falling for the deal to go ahead and it is about time.
Hopefully this all falls into place quickly so United can move on in the market.
Italian media claim Man Utd target is now battling his £69.5m release clause amid Ruben Amorim connection
Manchester United are expected to target a new midfielder this summer, and Ruben Amorim could look towards his former club, Sporting.
Manchester United’s full focus is on attacking additions as the new Premier League season draws ever closer.
Ruben Amorim needs options in the final third, and Matheus Cunha remains United’s only attacking addition this summer.
United’s chase of Bryan Mbeumo is dragging on, and improving other positions may be delayed until the Brentford forward’s future is settled.
United need to explore signing a goalkeeper and a central defender, as well as a new centre-forward to lead Amorim’s attack.
Amorim surely wants another midfielder as well, and he may look to raid former club Sporting for a new signing.

Manchester United target Morten Hjulmand battling Sporting release clause
United splashed the cash on Manuel Ugarte last summer, but the Uruguayan endured a mixed debut season.
Christian Eriksen has now left United, and Amorim may look to invest in a new midfielder later in the window.
Reports suggest Sporting midfielder Morten Hjulmand is on United’s radar, having worked with Amorim in Lisbon.
The Danish midfielder is a real workhorse in the engine room, proving himself to be a leader and a defensive machine for both Lecce and now Sporting.
Corriere dello Sport now highlight that Juventus want to sign Hjulmand, and they claim that there is a struggle over his release clause.
It’s stated that Hjulmand believes his €80million (£69.5million) release clause was actually tied to the future of Amorim.
Hjulmand allegedly believes that the huge fee would only apply if Amorim was still at the club, but his exit would trigger a lower price tag.
Sporting are contesting those claims and are currently pointing Juve towards the £69.5million release clause.
United certainly won’t be paying that kind of money for Hjulmand or any other midfielder this summer, but will certainly pay close attention to the Dane’s situation in the hope of a lower asking price.
These release clause claims have not been backed up in the Portuguese media, but Juve’s interest in Hjulmand and his history at Lecce mean the Italian media may be onto something.
