César Luis Merlo made no mention of the 24-year-old’s stance on joining the English club.

He now provides the latest on that for Mexico’s Súper Deportivo, and it’s not positive for Kieran McKenna’s side.

According to the journalist, the Mexico international has decided not to leave Deportivo Toluca for the Championship side.

Although the Mexican club were in advanced talks with Ipswich Town to sell Ruiz, he has now decided to withdraw from the negotiations because he’s not keen on joining the second division English club.

Instead, Ruiz has decided to continue at Deportivo Toluca, where he has a contract until 2027.

Last season, Ruiz operated as a central and a defensive midfielder, managing three goals and nine assists from 41 games.
