Morgan Gibbs-White intent on Tottenham move despite Manchester City interest
Nottingham Forest midfield mainstay Morgan Gibbs-White is determined to complete his move to giants Tottenham Hotspur.
According to a report from TBR Football, Tottenham Hotspur remain focused on finalising Morgan Gibbs-White’s transfer in the coming days. While they have the green light from the player and were ready to trigger his release clause, Nottingham Forest are trying hard to hold onto the English international, but they are unlikely to succeed.
Gibbs-White has only gone from strength to strength since joining Nottingham from Wolves in the summer of 2022. Not only did he establish himself as one of their mainstays, but he is also widely regarded as one of the best attacking midfielders in England.
The 25-year-old’s impressive performances have put him on the radar of multiple top clubs. Tottenham are one of the clubs that have been very keen on securing his services. Thomas Frank seeks more creativity in the final third and considers Gibbs-White an ideal fit for his system and the club’s project.
Tottenham remain focused on Gibbs-White
He wanted someone who could battle James Maddison for a place in the starting XI and cover for him, given his injury track record. The English international had already agreed in principle to join Tottenham, and the North London club were ready to trigger his confidential £60 million release clause.
While Gibbs-White was on the verge of joining Spurs, Nottingham decided to take legal action as they wanted to know how Tottenham became aware of the clause. Amidst all this, the move was put on hold.
However, both Tottenham and the 25-year-old are keen on finalising the move in the near future. While Gibbs-White has just linked up with Nottingham on their pre-season tour in Portugal after missing the initial phase, he is still expected to be on the move this summer.
Forest are trying hard to hold onto their star, and they were even hoping Manchester City would revive their interest in him. But that hasn’t happened as Pep Guardiola’s team have moved on from the former Wolves star after he made it clear that he wants to join Spurs.
Newcastle ‘go big’ for £60m target with major push on Friday to agree terms
Alexander Isak wants out and we’ve just lost out on James Trafford to Man City, forcing us to up the ante in other departments with two strikers now needed if the Swede departs.
Talks for Yoane Wissa continue with Brentford over a £35m+ deal, but widespread reports have emerged on our big push to sign Benjamin Sesko as a potential Isak replacement.
The Athletic’s David Ornstein has confirmed the RB Leipzig star is a ‘top target’ as we look to react in fear of losing Isak, with the 6ft 5′ Slovenian a long-standing target.
Fabrizio Romano adds that we are ready to ‘go big’ in a bid to sign the 22-year-old, with Toon chiefs set to present the project to the striker who was considered by Arsenal before they opted for Viktor Gyokeres instead.
TalkSPORT’s Ben Jacobs has also revealed that we are working to agree a deal with the player himself today, holding talks on Friday over personal terms.
Jacobs adds that a bid is imminent for the £60m-rated striker, but insists it is not an easy deal to complete based on the finances involved and structure of payments RB Leipzig are likely to demand.
Isak leaving is a huge blow, if it happens, but reacting quickly and landing Sesko and Wissa in his place for a combined £100m would go a long way to replacing his goals.
Heung-min Son ‘likely’ scenario revealed as LAFC push hard for Tottenham captain
A new report has made a huge claim on Heung-min Son’s upcoming transfer decision as Major League Soccer and Saudi Pro League clubs push ahead with a move for the Tottenham captain.
While it was reported until a couple of weeks ago that Son would like to see out his contract at Spurs and join the MLS next summer, the situation appears to have changed over the last 48 hours.
It emerged on Wednesday that Los Angeles FC are now determined to sign the Tottenham superstar this summer after hearing that he is surplus to requirements in North London.
That update, which came from The Athletic, suggested that talks between LAFC and Son were not at an advanced stage, but things have moved rapidly since then.

Heung-min Son is now increasingly likely to leave Tottenham
On Thursday morning, it emerged that LAFC had officially submitted an offer for Son as the MLS club tries to reunite the forward with Hugo Lloris.
Now, a new report from The Times has claimed that the 33-year-old is ‘increasingly likely’ to leave the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium after the offer arrived from the Californian club.
The outlet asserts that several Saudi Pro League clubs have also substantiated their interest in the Tottenham star over recent weeks.
However, the report backs up what has been said by other sources: the experienced forward will only leave following Tottenham Hotspur’s pre-season tour of South Korea, with his presence in the tour being crucial to the Lilywhites commercially.
Could Son still decide to stay at Spurs?
Some sources have claimed that Son could decide to stay at Tottenham until January and is not particularly keen on exiting the club this summer.
However, with LAFC now seemingly working to convince the forward, it remains to be seen if he decides to change his mind.
Whatever happens, it will be the 33-year-old himself who will make the final decision, with reports making it clear that Tottenham will not push Son out the door, even though he is in the final year of his deal.
