Sad Departure: 3 star players departed Warrington Wolves just now….

Warrington Wolves will have to wait until 2025 to play at Old Trafford once more after losing 10-8 at Hull KR on Friday night. The Wolves played their part and pushed the home side all the way with a second half brace from Matty Ashton setting up a grandstand finish.

Sam Burgess’ side just couldn’t do enough to edge out the Robins, who will play either Wigan Warriors or Leigh Leopards at next week’s showpiece Grand Final.

Matt Dufty: Controversially saw a try ruled out in the first half and looked to assert himself on the game in the second as he provided the assist for Ashton’s second. 7

Josh Thewlis: Dealt with most kicks but dropped a couple. 6

Rodrick Tai: Impressed early on with some big hits and looked defensively sound but couldn’t do enough with the ball. 7

Toby King: Probably could have done more to deny James Batchelor in the first half but combined well with Ashton. 6

Matty Ashton: Warrington’s best throughout. Caused problems with his running game and grabbed two second half tries to make it a contest.8

George Williams: Struggled to come up with the big play but looked a threat and grew in influence as the game went on. 7
