Warrington Wolves make second 2025 signing hours after the first

Warrington Wolves have confirmed their second signing for the 2025 season just hours after announcing their first.

Earlier today, Wire announced the signing of reported target Ollie Leyland with the 23-year-old signing from relegated London Broncos and now the club have added a second recruit.

That second man is another player who has been reportedly linked with Warrington Wolves in the form of Papua New Guinea international Daniel Russell.

That second man is another player who has been reportedly linked with Warrington Wolves in the form of Papua New Guinea international Daniel Russell.

Russell arrives at Warrington on a two-year contract and will fill the overseas quota spot that is left vacant after the release of half-back Josh Drinkwater following his contract expiration.

Warrington Wolves announced the signing of Russell via a statement shared to their website.

It read: “Warrington Wolves is delighted to announce the signing of PNG international forward Daniel Russell on a two-year contract.

“The 28-year-old bolsters our second-row and is a towering forward at 6ft 4ins and 16stone.
