Nottingham Forest now well placed to sign ‘world class’ £34m player after he rejects Leeds United
Nottingham Forest have made two signings so far this summer transfer window.
Igor Jesus and Jair Cunha have joined Nottingham Forest from Brazilian club Botafogo, strengthening the attacking and defensive ranks.
Nuno Espirito Santo is now eyeing Jacob Ramsey, who could replace Morgan Gibbs-White if he joins Tottenham Hotspur.
Bologna’s Dan Ndoye is also on Nottingham Forest’s radar, and he is reportedly keen on a move to the City Ground.
Now, there is a fresh transfer development emerging and it’s some welcome good news for the Tricky Trees.

Nottingham Forest well-placed to sign Douglas Luiz
Nottingham Forest have been eyeing Douglas Luiz for most of the summer transfer window after playing a bit-part role for Juventus.
Luiz will be allowed to leave the Serie A giants just a year after joining from Aston Villa, but only if a deal includes an obligation to buy worth £34m, should it be a loan, of course.
Now, according to Italian outlet Tuttosport, Forest are in a good position to land his signature after he decided to reject approaches from Leeds United and Fulham.
Luiz’s agent Kia Joorabchian is due to fly to England to hold talks with a couple of Premier League suitors, with Forest likely to be one.
Everton remain in the mix, too.
Luiz has been labelled ‘world class’
According to the Athletic, Luiz’s former teammate John McGinn genuinely believed he was a ‘world class’ footballer, which is high praise indeed.
The former Manchester City star remains one of the best deep-lying playmakers in Europe, as he ranks in the top seven per cent for shot-creating actions, as per FBref.
Luiz also sits in the top five per cent for successful take-ons per 90, amplifying his elite dribbling abilities, too.
His potential arrival at the City Ground would also add a new specialist set-piece taker to Espirito Santo’s ranks.
Who is Dan Ndoye? Meet the Bologna winger who has said yes to a Nottingham Forest move
Nottingham Forest are edging closer to signing Swiss international Dan Ndoye, who has already agreed to personal terms for a switch to the City Ground.
It’s been suggested that Bologna want £39m for Ndoye, with Evangelos Marinakis now tasked with producing a fee while Napoli also circle.
Despite Napoli’s interest, Forest are persisting with the Ndoye deal as a matter of priority, with a winger the most important deal the club can conclude right now after Anthony Elanga made his move to Newcastle United.
With the interest not going anywhere, here is all you need to know about Nottingham Forest target, Dan Ndoye.

Who is Dan Ndoye?
Dan Assane Ndoye was born on the 25th of October, 2000, in Nyon, Switzerland. Having started his career at Lausanne-Sport, Ndoye has also played for OGC Nice and FC Basel before making the switch to Italy to sign for Bologna in 2023.
Dan Ndoye parents
Ndoye was born in Switzerland to a Swiss mother and a Senegalese father, but has chosen to represent his home nation throughout his international career, all the way from U17 level.
He certainly gets support from his family, who have been willing to relocate to support the winger in his footballing journey. A 2024 article from 24 Heures said: “When Dan Ndoye leaves for Nice, Virginie, his mother, and Eva, his little sister (now 18), settle on the Côte d’Azur.
“When he goes to Basel, the family moves to the Rhine city. When he goes to Bologna? “We make arrangements to be close to him,” says Saliou, his father. “There are always family members near Dan.”
According to Gianluca Di Marzio: “Ndoye stood out in the match against Germany, scoring one goal. He would have scored two, had the second not been ruled out for offside. Immediately after the match, United requested information regarding the cost of a potential transfer.”
The link seemed credible given that Sir Jim Ratcliffe also owns Nice and Lausanne, but a deal never materialised to the benefit of those at the City Ground.
Dan Ndoye salary
According to Capology, Ndoye currently earns £17,000 per week at Bologna. Of course, a move to the Premier League will come with the expectation of a wage rise, but it shouldn’t be one that the Forest owner cannot handle.
Dan Ndoye Instagram
Reds fans can keep up to date with Ndoye’s life by following him on Instagram, where he posts fairly regularly about his career and personal life to his 120k followers.
