AC/DC Almost Replaced Themselves At No. 1
AC/DC’s name can always be found on the Hard Rock Digital Song Sales chart. The rockers usually claim at least one of the bestselling hard rock tunes in the U.S., as their catalog remains incredibly popular, even decades after some of their biggest singles were released.
The band outdoes themselves this time around, as they send one of their most popular tracks back to the Billboard list. AC/DC doesn’t just rule again; they fill the highest two rungs on the Hard Rock Digital Song Sales chart—and with classics, as well.
AC/DC rules the Hard Rock Digital Song Sales chart once again this week. Their smash “Thunderstruck” is a non-mover at No. 1. The cut returned to the summit last frame, and it’s proved to be unbeatable again.
The Australian rockers double up inside the top 10 this frame, as another one of their fan favorites bounces back. “Back in Black” blasts onto the Hard Rock Digital Song Sales chart at No. 2. This time around, AC/DC’s only competition for the top spot was themselves.
“Back in Black” might not have reached the top spot on the Hard Rock Digital Song Sales ranking this week, but that’s alright. The tune has ruled the tally in the past for just two frames. Meanwhile, “Thunderstruck” is one of the longest-running leaders on any list, as it’s now controlled the roster for 52 weeks.
AC/DC only fills a pair of spots on the Hard Rock Digital Song Sales list this time around. That’s actually fairly low for the band, as in some instances, they will claim three, four, or more spaces at once.
