Kate Martin’s Rumored Girlfriend Appears to Confirm Relationship on Instagram
Las Vegas Aces guard Kate Martin is on vacation while four of her teammates, A’ja Wilson, Kelsey Plum, Chelsea Gray, and Jackie Young compete on Team USA at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
The Olympic break arrived at the perfect time for Martin, as the 24-year-old fell during the Ace’s last game against the Chicago Sky and needed assistance off the court. Matt Martin, the rookie’s father, told KCCI 8 that she avoided a serious injury, suffering a bruised Achilles.
The Aces next matchup isn’t until August 17, which offers Martin plenty of time to rest and rehab her Achilles. During the break, the Iowa alum is also spending quality time with her rumored girlfriend, Claire Gransee. While fans started to guess they were an item last month, Gransee appeared to confirm the rumors on her Instagram Stories on August 1.
Gransee, a fellow Iowa alum, reposted Martin’s photo with a “👩❤️💋👩” emoji, which is typically reserved for romantic relationships.
Gransee first posted a photo with Martin, the No. 18 overall in the 2024 WNBA Draft, on her Instagram Stories in June. She wrote, “Switched coasts for the weekend” with a jackpot emoji, as she was visiting Martin in Las Vegas.
One day later, a fan on TikTok posted a video lamenting about their rumored relationship. She wrote, “I can’t even be upset if that’s Kate Martin’s girlfriend because she is LITERALLY GORGEOUS STUNNING BEAUTIFUL PERFECT.” Martin replied, “She is gorgeous, stunning & perfect, I can’t lie.”
Martin, who remains best friends with her former Hawkeye teammate, Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark, quickly became a fan favorite in the WNBA. While she received an overwhelming amount of fan votes for the All-Star game, she didn’t make final cut.
While Clark participated in the All-Star showdown against Team USA in Phoenix, Arizona on July 20, Gransee posted a photo of Martin on her Instagram Stories, which showed the guard living her best life at Caveau, a nightclub in Boston.
