We have reached the month of August, which means there are mere weeks until the beginning of the 2024 college football season. Auburn football will return to action on August 31 when they host Alabama A&M at Jordan-Hare Stadium, but there is plenty to look forward to ahead of time.

Fans are invited to attend The Auburn Family Football Preseason Kickoff on August 10 at the indoor facility behind the Athletics Complex on the corner of Samford Avenue and South Donahue Drive. Attendance is free, and doors will open at 3:00 p.m. central.

Fans will have the opportunity to meet the 2024 Auburn Tigers and Hugh Freeze, get autographs, and visit the family fun zone, and there will be a pep rally led by the Auburn Cheerleaders featuring an appearance from Aubie.

Auburn basketball has scheduled a two-season series with Houston

Meanwhile, head coach Bruce Pearl continues to put together one of the most elite non-conference slates in program history. Auburn basketball and Houston have agreed to a two-season series beginning this fall, according to Auburn Undercover.

The Tigers will take on Houston on November 9 at the Toyota Center in Houston, home of the Houston Rockets, and in 2025 the Cougars will take on the Tigers in Birmingham, Alabama.

In addition to Houston, other non-conference teams the Tigers will face this season include Purdue, Duke, and the extensive Maui Invitational field that includes defending NCAA champion UConn. None of these games will be played in Neville Arena. Auburn will take on Purdue at a neutral site in Birmingham and travel to Durham to face Duke in the SEC/ACC Challenge while the Maui Invitational is obviously in Maui.

It will be a tough non-conference slate for this year’s Tigers, but Pearl will be make sure his players are ready to take on the challenge.
