Four Cats have featured in the coaches votes for round 22
Patrick Dangerfield has received a perfect 10 coaches votes for his performance against Fremantle in the AFLCA Champion Player of the Year Award.
Geelong’s captain was influential throughout the game, collecting 20 disposals and a game high 11 clearances to lead his side to an important win.
Dangerfield recorded an equal game high eight score involvements and 14 contested possessions, taking two contested marks and kicking a pivotal goal in the last quarter to help the Cats control momentum.
Zach Guthrie was also recognised by the coaches for his strong outing, receiving five coaches votes for his 20 disposal performance.
The defender collected a game high 11 intercept possessions, while also taking 10 marks to help stifle the Dockers forward line.
Max Holmes received three votes from the coaches after collecting 20 possessions against Fremantle, gaining a team high 677 metres to help generate plenty of the Cats ball movement.
Holmes has retaken the lead for Geelong in this year’s award, now sitting on 55 votes for the season to narrowly surpass Jeremy Cameron who has 53 votes.
Gryan Miers rounded out the votes for the Cats, awarded one vote from the coaches after collecting a team high 23 disposals and booting one goal on Saturday.
