Lamar Jackson’s Concerning Practice Absence Hit With John Harbaugh Admission
The Baltimore Ravens suffered a crushing loss to the Kansas City Chiefs on Thursday Night Football to open their 2024 campaign, despite a strong game from Lamar Jackson. The superstar quarterback was a menace both in the passing game (26/41, 273 YDS, 1 TD) and on the ground (16 CAR, 122 YDS), but it wasn’t enough for the Ravens to pick up a win over the Chiefs. Baltimore took the practice field on Monday as they begin to prepare for their Week 2 matchup with the Las Vegas Raiders, but Jackson was noticeably absent during this session. After the practice concluded, head coach John Harbaugh addressed Jackson’s absence, but it certainly won’t ease fans’ concerns about his status.
While multiple players weren’t on the field for practice, Harbaugh’s refusal to clear the air on their statuses, or even directly address why Jackson wasn’t present, is a bit eye-opening. Chances are it was simply a maintenance day for Jackson, but there’s a chance he could have picked up an injury that the team is attempting to conceal ahead of their next game.
As a result, Jackson’s status will be worth keeping an eye on as the week unfolds, because he figures to play a crucial role in helping Baltimore in their attempt to bounce back from their tough Week 1 loss.
