Ohio State ranked second with most players represented on NFL rosters

With the first week of NFL games finally completed, many experts can now look at a variety of different demographics for each individual team. The National Football League recently published their ‘Kickoff Weekend rosters’, and they consisted of numerous interesting statistics.

One such statistic was colleges represented for the league, as well as schools with the most position types. With over 230 colleges accounted for, some universities stood out more than others. One such school being the Ohio State Buckeyes.

In the report, the NFL had a table of the colleges with the most NFL players, and Ohio State placed second with 51 players (behind Alabama at 61). With players like C.J. Stroud, Nick Bosa, Garrett Wilson, and Denzel Ward, the Buckeyes offered tons of talent for the 2024/25 NFL season.

The Buckeyes also ranked first in colleges with the most players by position in the defensive end slot. Here are the former Buckeye DE’s on active rosters:

It will be exciting to see all of these former Ohio State players continue to play at an elite level, as well as compete in the league and against each other. And after this season, the Bucks will look to potentially add even more players to the league once the 2025 NFL Draft arrives.

The NFL season has just begun, so there is so much more in store for these Buckeyes and the rest of the league.
