Cronulla hold a recent dominance over Canterbury, winning their last six matches against the Dogs and holding the advantage with a 7-2 record since the 2019 season.

The Bulldogs defence has been their highlight this season but it failed to impress last weekend against the Roosters who powered past them, controlling 59% of the territory in the match and breaking their line 6 times in a 26-8 loss for Canterbury.
It was one of the Bulldogs worst performances of the season, conceding over 10 points more than their season average of just 16.9 opposition points per game and over 2 more linebreaks than their 3.8 opposition linebreaks per game. 
Canterbury’s position on the table could look a little inflated considering they have played just 5 games against current top-eight teams with their only win coming against the Roosters in torrential weather.
All but one of Canterbury’s seven wins has come against teams that are currently outside of the finals bracket.

Blake Taff will take the fullback spot with Connor Tracey missing after taking a high-shot last weekend against the Roosters.
Bronson Xerri is back in the centres with Drew Hutchinson dropping to the reserves.
Stephen Crichton has been named in the reserves but is unlikely to back up from Origin with a short turnaround from Wednesday’s match.
